Halloween Bash 2011

This year Deb and I decided to have our Halloween bash together with our families. They've been our best friends for like 27 years and our kids are all best friends still so it was a "no brainer". We knew we'd have a great time. I really didn't know what I was going to dress up as clear up until like 3 days before our big party. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I went through our Halloween costumes from years past and this is what I came up with. I just had to buy the wig and sword and eye patch. Roger bought the Cheech and Chong wig and mustache and headband. He's such a good sport to always dress up when I want him too. We used to always go dancing and dress up at Halloween time but haven't done that for a couple of years now. This picture was right before we took off for our party.Deb and I had planned so many fun things to do for everyone. I bought a pinata that was an ugly witch. The kids loved it and of course Brayden was the one to break it and all the kids scampered for the candy. Here's little Easton taking his turn at bat.
Debbie had ghost bowling for the little ones. They had to roll a pumpkin to knock down the rolls of toilet paper. Colby just took his turn. The other little ones looking on are JJ, Bentley, Bryghton, Gentry and Adaline.
I think Jared and Kristi make the cutest scarecrow and tin man.
Gentry and Dax. Gentry is Dorothy of the Wizard of Oz and Dax is a punk rockstar.
We had a pumpkin carving contest with all the men. Jared is taking his job very seriously.
Rog is getting into his pumpkin (literally)
Kori and Heather are going to do the eating the doughnut off of the string contest.
Troy is trying to be very creative with his pumpkin. There is a big prize for the winner.
Daxton, Presley, JJ and Gentry and trying to bite their doughnuts without using their hands. Daxtons ended up falling on the floor so he hit the floor on his knees to try and finish eating it.
Here are the finished pumpkins. They all did an awesome job.
Colby made the cutest Superman!! This costume was worn 30 years ago by Kori's brother when he was a little boy.
Deb, the tourist and me as Jack Sparrow
Hadley even got into dressing up. Shana and Hadley are Punk Rockstars. I was surprised Hadley would even come to me with my costume on but she did great.
Easton hated putting the head part of the lion on his head.
There's my little sweetheart. Her first Halloween party.
Presley wanted to be a doctor so Shana made her a Punk Doctor. She had so much fun dressing up.
The Gardner family as punk rock stars. Boy did they ever play the part well.
Troy and Kori are the Ghost Busters. Addie is a fairy princess and Colby is SupermanLook at these boys. They are awesome looking. I just hope they never want to dress like that in real life. lol
Isn't this the cutest? They're all from The Wizard of Oz. I love Makinley's face!! These are for the most part handmade costumes except for the lion. How creative!
Gentry made a beautiful Dorothy.
We had yummy soups for dinner with rolls and lots of goodies to eat.
Addie loved the goodies the most.
I love this kid!
Here are all of our grandchildren minus one of the newest grandbabies of Wilsons. It's so awesome to see all of our grandkids playing together and to see all of our offspring.
Here are all the adults. I love all of our costumes! Everyone was so creative. I'm so glad we have remained friends over all these years. I know our families will continue to enjoy so many more fun and happy times together.
Brayden is hitting the pinata.
The worlds best friends. Thank you Steve and Deb for giving Rog and I the funnest memories. We continue to laugh and laugh when we're all together. I love them so much.
Now that Halloween is over we'll have to start thinking of what we want to dress up as next year. Let the contests begin!!

Hadley Lyn

I don't think I ever blogged about this little sweetheart that was born on Dec. 22, 2010. She was born the day after her mommy's birthday. This little girl was another miracle baby born to Jake and Shana. Look at her now. She's 10 months old in this picture. As you can see she loves to find things to get into. When she was born and for the first 8 months or so she was the spitting image of Shana. It was reliving Shana's life. She's changing so much and now I think she resembles both her and Jake.

Daxton couldn't wait to hold his little sister. He's a wonderful big brother to Hadley and Presley.
Brayden is the oldest of all 4 kids and loves his siblings. He watches over them and helps when needed.
Now Presley...what can I say? She had been begging to get this little girl out of her mommy's tummy for months. And now here she is. She wouldn't let anyone else touch her or she'd cry. She constantly wanted to be in Hadley's face. hahaha..She loves her so much.
The cord had been wrapped around her little neck so she was quite blue when she was born. Grandpa loves his 9th grandbaby.

Here's mommy and her 4th little child. I love when a mother sees her child for the first time. It's so touching.
We had slept over at their home so Jake and Shana could go to the hospital early in the morning and we took care of the kids. We're in the waiting room waiting for Shana's labor to progress. Patiently waiting..
Our purple little Hadley

Jake and their doctor. Jake got to scrub in and gown up to deliver Hadley and cut her cord. What a neat experience.

Gardner Village

Yesterday I took a half a day off of work and drove up to Gardner Village to meet Shana and the kids. It was supposed to be a fun day but I think the whole state of Utah was there. It was Fall break so I guess that was the place to go. It was so crowded you couldn't hardly move and it took me 35 minutes to just get out of the parking lot. But it was fun to see them and take a couple of pictures. Shana left after about 45 minutes so I just stayed and shopped. She was with her friend and her kids so they went to lunch. I was able to find a couple of Christmas gifts so now I can say I"ve got a start on Christmas. I've been such a slacker this year. I usually have a ton of it done already. We did buy Jake and Shana's Christmas though. She needed a really nice flash for her photography business so we bought that for them.
Troy and Kori and Kristi took the kids to Pumpkin Land the other day. I wasn't able to go since I had a dentist appointment. But Rog took a few pictures while they were there. The kids are all growing up so much. I think I've got the best looking grandkids around. I'm a very blessed grandma.
Anyway, I took a couple of pictures at Gardner Village and wanted to post them along with the ones from Pumpkin Land for my blog journal.

Rose

I was at work today and in walked Rog with a beautiful long stemmed rose. That made my day to say the least. I love when he comes in and visits me.
Today's my last day of my long stretch of shifts. I worked Friday, Saturday, off Sunday, worked Monday, Tues for 4 hours, then yesterday and today. They're all 12 hour shifts except for the 4 hour one. By today I'm so beat. I can't hardly keep my eyes open. But I keep telling myself I can do it. Just like the little engine that could. I keep telling myself "I think I can, I think I can." I look forward to my 4 days off now and can't wait to clock out of here and go home and kick my feet up. Except I have my tap lessons tonight.
Life is good though. I do look forward to the day I can retire. I'm not sure when that will be but for now this is my life.

Rog

It's early in the morning and ready to go to work but I'm overwhelmed with a feeling of love for my sweet husband and I wanted to write these feelings down. He is such a rock to me. I can't imagine my life without him. He has had unconditional love our whole marriage. I would give anything to have him healthy and happy and to be able to do all the things he loves to do. I'm so thankful he was able to retire last year. I enjoy my days off with him. We help each other, we go for rides, we go to lunch and sometimes just nap. But he is such a wonderful husband and father and especially a wonderful papa. The grand kids love him so much. I love to see them interact together. I worry what the future holds for him because I certainly don't want to have him die before me but mostly I don't ever want to die before him and leave him here to fend for himself with his health problems. I always pray to God that each day will be a good one for him.
I love you honey and I'm so thankful for you. I love the little notes you always leave me before work. I look forward to finding them hiding in my clothes :)
Love,
Me

Fall 2011

On my last day of my 4 off in a row, Rog and I wanted to take a drive to see the fall colors. He wanted to go to Mt. Nebo. We took our time as we wanted to take it all in. We weren't in any hurry, we didn't have any obligations to attend to today, we were just at our leisure. Something we don't usually have so it was so nice to take our time and enjoy every minute of it. The colors were spectacular and will be even more next week. I"m so grateful for my sweetheart who is retired and can enjoy doing these things with me. We started through Payson Canyon and relished in the beauty of Gods creations. How blessed we are to live with 4 seasons of the year and to enjoy them. I love this time of year but it also means that winter is coming and the older I get the more I don't care for the cold. I still love to ski but it's the cold that I really hate. Here are a few of the pictures I took today.Look at all the different colors in this picture. So vibrant!!
I love the blue sky in this one.
The mountainside was just covered with colors.
I love having Roger set the timer on our camera and have him run to get in the picture. This is at Payson Lake.
This is an artists dream. Look at the colors and the shadows in the lake. My mom would have loved to have painted this.
Like a good driver Rog has his eyes on the road. I'm so blessed to have him in my life. I love him so much and really enjoy our time together. I can't wait for the day we can do more of these fun days.

Addies 2nd birthday

Happy 2nd birthday to our sweet Adaline Denice Pyne. She was born on 09-09-2009. The world is a better place because of this little sweetheart. Addie has always been such a smart little girl. She learned to speak at a very young age. She's already learning to go potty. She loves her baby dolls. She's afraid of Izzy though. Addie loves playing with her brother Colby. She's a Papa's girl and loves sitting on his lap.
On the day of her birthday she had hand/foot and mouth disease so her party had to be delayed but once she got better we all gathered to celebrate her birth. Gramma and Grandpa love her so much and love having her come to our home.
We love you Adaline!

Addie got some really cute dress up clothes from Makinley and Gentry and Easton
Colby loved the cake.
Colby's helping Addie blow out her 2 candles.
We gave her the little baby doll set so she can take care of her dollies.
Easton enjoying his piece of cake.
