Monthly Quotes

I was sitting in church yesterday and happened to just pull out my day timer calendar. I hadn't noticed before but each month had inspirational quotes that I felt were worth sharing. When I read these I think how much better the world would be if we just followed a few simple things. See what you think.

January: How beautiful a day can be when kindness touches it!

February: "Love thy neighbor" is a precept which could transform the world if it were universally practiced.

March: The work an unknown good man has done is like a vein of water flowing hidden underground, secretly making the ground green.

April: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity.

May: Small things, done with great love, bring joy and peace.

June: Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.

July: It is well to give when asked, but it is better to give unasked, through understanding.

August: What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity...scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.

September: Having a big heart has nothing to do with how big your bank account is. Everyone has something to give.

October: If we all tried to make other people's paths easy, our own feet would have a smooth even place to walk.

November: We must give more in order to get more. It is the generous giving of ourselves that produces the generous harvest.

December: You get more joy out of the giving to others, and should put a good deal of thought into the happiness you are able to give.

A picture I treasure

I was reading my sisters blog last night and this morning and she had this picture posted on it. It's a picture I treasure with all my heart. Shana Lyn never got to know her grandma . My mom passed away two weeks after this picture was taken. Shana was just 6 months old. As sick as my mom was she treasured the minutes she had with each grandchild. Shana was born just 4 days before Christmas and we knew it would be my moms last Christmas with us. Rog, me, Jared and Shana spent the holiday there with her so she could share in the excitement of Christmas morning. She had bought the kids so many cute things. I remember Shana got clothes and a little pink mouse. Jared got a football toybox among other fun things.
Mom loved her grandchildren so much. She got much enjoyment buying things for them. Jared was just 31/2 when mom died and his only memory is of a red candy dish that sat by her bed and having her tell him he could have some candy in it. I treasure her journals. She was so good about writing in them. I still to this day have a hard time reading the last one where she was dealing every day with the ravishes of cancer and how much she wanted to live to see her family grow up. She died at the age of 57 and I can truely understand the closer I get to that age, why she wanted to live so bad. I can't imagine dying and leaving my little sweethearts to go on without me. I love you mom and miss you so much.

My Little Cowboys and Cowgirls

I just had to show off my sweet,
adorable, fun little grandkids. This picture was taken at Daxtons birthday party last Saturday. They're quite authentic looking aren't they? Like they should be bucking on bulls and roping the calves and barrel racing . Maybe even a little two-steppin to some George Strait. I"m sure looking forward to taking them to the Strawberry Days rodeo this June. Yeeeee Hawwwwww

My Hubby

I just wanted to say a big "Thanks" to my sweet hubby. The last several huge snow storms we've had have left like 6" of snow on my car while I"ve been inside at work for 12 hours. One time I was getting ready to leave and said to one of my fellow employees how I was not looking forward to going out to scrape the snow off my car after the big storm. Well, low and behold I went outside in the dark and cold and there it was..all cleaned off. How happy was I? Then again today after it snowed 10" again I went outside and it was cleared off again. I so much appreciate that because it's so snowy and cold and dark when I leave work. Just little things like that mean so much. Thank you honey!!!

Go Utah Jazz!!!!

Roger and I have been going to a few of the Jazz games this past couple of weeks. We have really enjoyed the time together and watching the games. We don't have the best seats but they aren't too bad either. I love the excitment in the arena when the crowd goes wild. I love the environment where everyone is happy and excited to be there. It's hard to tell how tall the guys are sitting up where we are but I can only imagine. I'd love the opportunity to stand by one and have my picture taken. We've got tickets to three more games and I'm so excited!!! And it's fun to spend time with my hubby. I know he really enjoys it too. GO JAZZ!!!!!
