Texas August 2013

Roger, me and Daxton decided to take a fun drive across several states to go and visit Troys family. Wow that's a long drive!!! About 21 hours total. We stayed a night in New Mexico to break the drive up. It was so fun to have Daxton go with us. What a great traveler he was. He brought books, his Ipad and something to draw on to pass the time. He never complained. It sure makes the trip go much better when you have good little travelers like that. I'm glad we got to take him with us and spend some one on one time with him.
Troy, Kori, Colby and Adaline at Magnolias Pancake House on our last day in Texas. It's the best breakfast place ever!! It's a "must go to" place when we go and visit.

On our home from our trip we stopped at Four Corners so that Daxton could say he had been in four states at the same time. He thought that was pretty darn cool.

We took the kids to a Safari place where we could see many African Safari animals right from our car. We also could get out and see some of the animals.

Oh I love this little stinker. I relished every second I had. We love taking pictures of ourselves.
Ok..we're nuts I know. The kids get such a kick out of taking tons of pictures and doing crazy faces.

Here we are visiting at the Wild Safari Park
We went with Troy to the San Antonio Zoo

Can I say dimples!! Colby sat with me as we drove in the car through the Wild Safari Park

I brought our new snow cone machine so that we could make snow cones with the kids. It sure came in handy since it was so hot and humid there. They loved making them!!
Here are a couple of the wild animals

Kori made a yummy dinner. Look how tan we all are from swimming so much

Look how much I was sweating in the humidity there. It was like stepping out of a shower. I don't know if I could handle that all the time. Guess I'd have to either have real short hair or have a hat on.

Nerds!! These boys sure had fun playing together. Colby was attached to Daxton the whole trip.
Zoo day!

Kori and Rog watching me and the kids swimming. The pool area is so beautiful where they live.

We lived in the pool a couple of times a day. I brought this fun blow up toy and the kids loved trying to stay on it.
We're at the zoo. Notice the sweat!!!

Rog taking a minute to check his blood sugar.

This was a fun place to take a picture at the Zoo entrance.

African Safari

I spent hours and hours a day playing with the kids in the pool. We laughed and played so hard. I'm so glad I love the water and not afraid to get in and show my fat body. I'd sure miss out on all this fun if I didn't get in.

For a few minutes I would get time to relax and catch some sun. But then I'd get someone coming underneath me and tipping me over. Hmmm I wonder if that could have been Daxton??? lol

This beautiful young lady loved watching grandma get ready in the morning. She'd sit on the bathroom counter and watch me put make up on and blow my hair dry. She wanted her lips like mine so I'd have to dab a little make up on her.

My little stinkers. Oh they had so much fun together. They're little fishes in the water. Daxton is a great swimmer and Colby and Adaline are swimming now too. You couldn't take your eyes off of them because they had no fear. Most of the time they didn't even wear their floaties.
Troy's such a good daddy. He loves swimming with the kids too.
It's always so hard to leave our family behind. But I know they're happy where they are. We miss having them at our family functions and being able to see them anytime we want. I'm grateful we can visit as often as we do. And I'm sure glad it's a beautiful place too. We love San Antonio. The people are so friendly, the restaurants are to die for. So here's to the next time we get to go back and visit. So long Troy, Kori, Colby and Addie.

Our August Birthdays

Happy Birthday to Jake on August 12th.
He's been such a great asset to our family. He's a wonderful husband to Shana, daddy to his 4 kids and a great son-inlaw. Always has a smile on his face, always giving service to others and is such a dedicated, hard worker.

Happy Birthday to Kori on August 27th. She's a great wife to Troy, and a fun mommy to Colby and Addie. Kori is a fantastic cook. Makes the best dinners ever! When they lived closer she was always asking us up for dinner which was so nice.

Our Best Friends.

We spent Memorial Day weekend at Starvation Resevoir with our best friends. We camped and fished for several days and we had the time of our lives. I'd say we were quite successful in the fishing category. We were catching them left and right. This picture is just the first day we went out.

Look at my man! He's pretty happy about that nice fish he caught. Most of the fish were over 2 lbs.

I'm so blessed to have these wonderful women in my life. I enjoy hanging out with them so much. We all have the same things in common and we have a blast when we can all get together.

Mike's filleting the fish for us. It took forever since we caught so many fish but boy were they tasty
when he cooked them up for us that night.

Rog is my fishing buddy. We love spending time together and doing fun things. He loves when I get so excited when I catch a fishie.

Mike and Teresa are so fun. We're so blessed to have them as friends. They love the same things that we do and that makes for a perfect friendship.

Steve and Deb. What can I say? He's Rogers best friend and Deb's one of mine. Friends of ours now for 28 years. I look forward to many more memories.

Lora caught her very first fish! She got so excited that the whole world could hear her. lol She's a nut and I love her to death. My best friend for 25 years now. I'm so glad she could come and spend a few days with us. She certainly deserved it.

Best friends forever!

Happy Birthday to our oldest grandchild. Brayden turned 12 years old. It's hard to believe I have a grand child that old but we do. He shares the month of June with me for our birthdays.
I love this young man so much. He's as tall as I am and growing like a weed. We got him that model car to put together and some clothes and art supplies. She loves to draw and is such an artist when it comes to characters. I hope he'll continue with his talent because he's off to a great start.

Look how big he is! Grandpa and Grandma love going to his baseball games when we can make it out there. He loves to play and is a great pitcher and 1st baseman. He's always playing on the accelerated and all star teams just like his uncles Jared and Troy.

He had some friends come with him and his family and they all slept over at our place and the next day we went to 7 peaks for the day. I'm glad that Daxton could photo bomb the picture. lol
Happy Birthday Brayden!! We love you. I pray you'll grow up to be a great citizen, member of the church, son, grandson, father and husband.

It's Presley's 4th Birthday!!

This little gal is the spunkiest thing you've ever met. She's such a fun young lady. Presley turned 4 on May 7th. She had a birthday party with her cousins at the park.
For her party the kids all made potted flowers to put in their yards. They had a nice picnic too. Can you tell her favorite color is purple too? I love that a lot of my grand-daughters love the color purple like me.
Presley went to a princess party where they did her hair and make up. It was fun to go and watch while her and Hadley had a blast.
Presley loves her dogs, all animals, she loves God and bearing her testimony in church. She's so smart and inquisitive. We love having her come to our house and sleep over. Happy 4th Birthday Presley! We love you!

Happy Birthday Kristi.

Look at her beautiful smile. Shana took this picture of Kristi back in the fall. I've always admired her beautiful sparkling eyes and big smile. Kristi is a talented young lady. She's got an awesome clientele of ladies who come to her to get their hair done. Even the men come also. She's great at what she does and is always so joyful. Kristi has been in our family now for about 18 years or so and we're so glad she's a part of our family. She's the best daughterinlaw we could ever ask for. Love you Kristi!

Happy 7th Birthday Gentry!!

Look at that cute purple birthday cake! Purple is Gentry's favorite color. Just like me.

Grandpa and Grandma love her so much. We love getting to spend a few minutes with our grandkids on their birthdays.
Gentry turned 7 and is a beautiful young lady. Look at her smile!! She brings so much joy and fun info our family. She loves, loves her dolls. She loves to ride her scooter and make crafts. She's growing into such a cute young lady. Gentry loves having sleep overs at our place with all of her cousins. She also loves to go shopping with grandma for her birthday presents. We went shopping for new shoes and she loved picking out her own.
Happy Birthday Gentry Rilyn Pyne!

Heber Valley Railroad Easter Train ride.

For another Easter party grandpa and I took the grandkids and Jake and Shana on the Heber Valley Railroad train ride. They had the easter bunny and gave out an easter egg with candy. It was fun but not as fun as having an easter egg hunt so next year we'll do that instead. I just thought this would be something different to do. There was a petting zoo so the kids got to pet some pigs, cows, goats.
Jake, Shana, Brayden, Daxton, Presley and Hadley after the trainride.
I love how Hadley is holding onto her papas arm. Looks like they're all ready for the train to start moving.
My cute grandkids. They're growing up so fast. I hope they'll always remember the fun times we've had.
Morris, Elaine and two of their grandkids came with us. The Easter bunny was doing a dance for us
Daxton petting the cow. I think he thought he was too old for a petting zoo..lol
Presley and Hadley loved the goats.
Hadley petting the baby calf. She adored the animals.
Rog and I after the ride. We sure love being with family and having a good time. I love creating memories for the kids.
