The Funnest Easter Ever

Shana and I made this Easter bunny cake for dessert. Everyone seemed to love it.

Happy 1st Easter Colby. Next year you'll be running around finding your own easter eggs. You'll see what a fool your Mimah makes of herself with her bunny ears each year..hahaha. But the other kids all know it's what I do. They expect it now.

Here are the little Easter egg hunters. Colby, Gentry, Makinley, Brayden and Daxton. They're ready for the big hunt. Happy Easter to my little sweethearts.

Here are all my great kids. They're the ones producing my darling grandkids. I sure love each one. I hope they'll keep the grandkids coming because we need a few more in our house. There's Troy and Kori, Jake and Shana, Kristi and Jared. Love you guys!!!

What a beautiful day for a fun Easter egg hunt. The kids could hardly wait but we made them pose for this pre-hunt picture. It's Colbys first Easter so we had to have him in on the action. Get ready set go!!! Go find the eggs!!!

Gentry is in amazement at all the eggs and candy she collected.

Makinley found her a blue egg. I wonder what's inside?

Daxton and Makinley are on the hunt looking for that golden egg.

Daxton won the "Golden Egg". It was so cute because he was with Gentry and Kristi was telling them to go look in this one particular spot. She had hidden the big egg under the wood shavings and put a piece of candy on top of it. Well Daxton took the candy off and gave it to Gentry and then he saw part of the golden egg showing. He grabbed it and held it up and said "oh awesome!!" It was so cute. It had lots of candy and a $5.00 bill inside. He made out all in all with about $11.00 out of the hunt.

It was a beautiful Easter day. Here is one of our kites that made it up really high. It was a successful kite flying day as you can see from the pictures.

Daxtons cheering Papa on. Hoping he'll have enough energy to run with the kite. Go Papa Go!!

Brayden loved his sponge bob kite. His face was beet red from running so much.

Jared's trying to get Makinleys Dora kite to get ready to fly.

Daxton had a ball trying to get his kite up in the air. He was running so fast and was out of breath.

We spent the afternoon at Shanas. She made a wonderful dinner for all of us then we went and hid the easter eggs at the school. We had so much fun watching the kids run around looking for all the candy and eggs then we spent time flying kites that we bought each of them. They loved it as you can tell. Thanks for all my family for making this the best Easter ever for me. I love you all so much.

Braydens First Time Skiing

This blog brings back so many memories of when my kids were small and I taught each one how to ski. Brayden slept over on Monday night and awoke in the morning all ready to go. He's been waiting for this day for a long time and I was the privledged one who got to take him skiing for his first time. I was getting ready in the morning and he yelled "come here Mimah." So I went in the family room and this picture is what he had made all by himself. He laid everything out perfectly. I thought that was pretty clever. The night before we went we had rented him some skis and I think he tried them off and on about a dozen times that night. You could tell he was so excited to go. The first run down a young man who was teaching a private class stopped and gave Brayden an Edgy Wedgy to put on his skis to hold him in a snowplow position. He gave him a 3 minute lesson and went on his way. He did it again when he was us on the next run down too. It was so helpful that Brayden was skiing the rest of the day all by himself. He went down hills that I never thought he'd go down his first time. He was such a trooper and Mimah had a smile on her face the whole day. Papa kind of ski'd on his own so we didn't hold him up. He did great too for his first time in several years.
Here's Papa and Brayden in the parking lot of Sundance Ski Resort. It was a beautiful spring skiing day. I've never seen a kid so excited to finally go skiing.

This is the final result. After two runs he was completely skiing on his own. In fact I told him it was his turn to lead and he took me into some trees. We didn't quite have enough umph to get up the hill so we had to back out. We laughed so hard. Needless to say he had no fear. Ok..I have to admit I was a real dummy. As you can tell I only posted three pictures. Well, I had charged my battery up in the camera and got up there and had forgotten the card to take pictures. GRRR...I was so upset. These were taken with the memory card in the camera so I was lucky to get those. Next time I'll get more pictures though. I'm so glad I got to spend this day with Brayden and get to help him on his first time skiing. I look forward to next year and getting the whole family up there.

Troy---Our Monkey

Do you think he escaped from the zoo? We caught Troy entertaining the grandkids today with one of his funny faces. I wonder if Colby will grow up to look and act just like his daddy..hahah.
I love you Troy Boy!!!

I'm So Proud!!!

Could I ask for anything more than this? I've been waiting for so long to take another "grandma and grandkids" picture. We were all together today at our home for dinner so I thought we better do it today. Each one has their own little distinct personalities. Brayden is 6, Daxton is 4, Makinley will be 4 next weekend, Gentry will be 2 in April and Colby is 2 weeks old tomorrow. Heavenly Father couldn't have blessed me more. I'm so happy and honored to be their grandma. I hope and pray they will always love coming to our home and hanging out with us. They are the light of our family.

I finally got to ski with my brother

Rog and I went up yesterday evening to my brothers place. They live in Eden and have a beautiful home there. He's been wanting us to come up and go skiing so we finally did it. Jane had to work so she was out of town. We went to dinner Fri. night then came home and watched Phil Collins in concert and talked for several hours. I love hearing his stories of him growing up since I didn't get to be a part of that with him. He tells me some of his memories of our dad and I tell him some of mine. I wish so much time hadn't gone by that we didn't see each other but I hope we can now make up for it. As I was sitting on the lift next to him today I couldn't help but think how happy our dad would be knowing that we have formed a relationship again. He has so many fun stories to tell us. He keeps us quite entertained. I'm so happy that he and Rog get along so well too. My brother Jim made us a delicious breakfast of oatmeal with walnuts and raisins in it. He had bacon and sweet rolls. He's quite the host too. We thoroughly enjoyed his company.
Jane wasn't able to ski with us because she is a flight attendant and had just gotten off work. But she drove up to have lunch with us which I'm so glad she did. We missed having her with us.

Jane, Jim and I are enjoying the beautiful sun that came out. Snowbasin is a beautiful ski resort. It's the first time I'd ever been there.

We took a break and had some lunch in one of the beautiful lodges at Snowbasin Ski Resort.
I am so glad we got to spend the night with Jim and got to finally go skiing. He's an awesome skier. I hope we can do it again some time next winter.
