Sibling get together in Sept. 2013

We were missing Kayleen in this picture but she was out of town. It was so nice to have Jim and Jane and Larry come down to Orem so that we could go to lunch. This rarely happens so it was a real treat. We got a few pictures to capture the moment. We talked of days gone by, our dad, our families etc. I'm so blessed to have such a close family who loves and supports one another.
Me, Rog, Cyndee, Geri, Larry, Jane and Jim eating at Red Lobster for lunch
My two handsome brothers. Jim Osborn and Larry Reda. I grew up with Larry so I'm very close to him. Jim is my dads son from a previous marriage but we knew Jim when I was a young girl. He came out to go to school at BYU and he'd come over to the house and hang out with us occasionally. I'm so glad we've reconnected with him and his wife Jane.
I sure love these people in my life. Cyndee, Geri, and Larry. I'm so blessed to have them.
Jim and Jane Osborn. It's always so fun to have them around. They live in Eden, Utah so it's quite a drive for them to come down this way but it was so worth it to be together.

Giving Thanks on 2013 Thanksgiving

This year I decided for Thanksgiving that I'd have each person write down five things that they were thankful for. I gave them each a piece of colored paper and wrote down their blessings. It was fun to read what each of them had written. I then took their pictures with what they were thankful for. Gentry wrote that she is thankful for her family, close (clothes), her pets, her friends and food.

Daxton wrote that he's thankful for his family, underwear, toilets, clothes and his home.
Brayden is thankful for his underwear, his family, house, clothes
Kristi is thankful for her Savior, her husband, her kids, a warm home and bed.
Presley is thankful for her family, her dogs, her mom and dad, Heavenly Father and Jesus, and food
Jared is thankful for his family, his job, for health insurance, his home and the gospel.
Little Hadley is thankful for her family, her home, Jesus, her dress ups, and dogs.
Makinley is grateful for her family, her home, her clothes and toilets
Easton is thankful for lots of things like, Jesus, deers, elks, bears, turkeys, dinner time and blankets
Roger is thankful for his family, for the plan of salvation, for prayer, our country and his health
I'm thankful for my family, my good health, airplanes (to fly me to Texas), my testimony and good friends.
Jake is thankful for Jesus Christ, his family, his good health, our free country and scriptures.
I couldn't read Shana's very well but she's thankful for her family
Colby is thankful for his dad and mom, Ruby his dog, his Christmas tree, Addie and school.
Addie is thankful for Ruby, Colby, her mom and dad, their house and Heavenly Father
Troy is thankful for his family, his job, the church, the sun and technology
Kori is thankful for her family, the church, her home, friends and good health.

Next Thanksgiving I'm going to bring out these pictures and read them off to everyone to remind them of what they were thankful for. I think it's a good time to reflect upon all of our blessings and be reminded of them. I know our lists could go on and on but I limited it to 5 things.
We missed Troy's family eating turkey dinner with us but they were with us in spirit. It was a great day for all of us!

Happy 4th Birthday Adaline 09/09/09

This little stinker turned 4 in Sept. even though this picture was taken in Dec.
Addie is growing up to be such an adorable sweetheart. Grandma misses her so much since she's so far away.
For Thanksgiving I had everyone write down what they were thankful for and this is what Addie said. Look at her beautiful smile. Addie loves her dog Ruby and is so attached to her. She plays house and takes her for stroller rides.
This is too funny. I sent the kids a Halloween box full of fun stuff and they loved these glasses with the big nose and mustache.
I hope and pray sweet Adaline will continue to grow up to love the gospel and love her primary class. And that she'll have a desire to always keep the commandments and obey her parents. I love this little girl and wish I could have given her a great big kiss and hug for her birthday.

Texas August 2013

Roger, me and Daxton decided to take a fun drive across several states to go and visit Troys family. Wow that's a long drive!!! About 21 hours total. We stayed a night in New Mexico to break the drive up. It was so fun to have Daxton go with us. What a great traveler he was. He brought books, his Ipad and something to draw on to pass the time. He never complained. It sure makes the trip go much better when you have good little travelers like that. I'm glad we got to take him with us and spend some one on one time with him.
Troy, Kori, Colby and Adaline at Magnolias Pancake House on our last day in Texas. It's the best breakfast place ever!! It's a "must go to" place when we go and visit.

On our home from our trip we stopped at Four Corners so that Daxton could say he had been in four states at the same time. He thought that was pretty darn cool.

We took the kids to a Safari place where we could see many African Safari animals right from our car. We also could get out and see some of the animals.

Oh I love this little stinker. I relished every second I had. We love taking pictures of ourselves.
Ok..we're nuts I know. The kids get such a kick out of taking tons of pictures and doing crazy faces.

Here we are visiting at the Wild Safari Park
We went with Troy to the San Antonio Zoo

Can I say dimples!! Colby sat with me as we drove in the car through the Wild Safari Park

I brought our new snow cone machine so that we could make snow cones with the kids. It sure came in handy since it was so hot and humid there. They loved making them!!
Here are a couple of the wild animals

Kori made a yummy dinner. Look how tan we all are from swimming so much

Look how much I was sweating in the humidity there. It was like stepping out of a shower. I don't know if I could handle that all the time. Guess I'd have to either have real short hair or have a hat on.

Nerds!! These boys sure had fun playing together. Colby was attached to Daxton the whole trip.
Zoo day!

Kori and Rog watching me and the kids swimming. The pool area is so beautiful where they live.

We lived in the pool a couple of times a day. I brought this fun blow up toy and the kids loved trying to stay on it.
We're at the zoo. Notice the sweat!!!

Rog taking a minute to check his blood sugar.

This was a fun place to take a picture at the Zoo entrance.

African Safari

I spent hours and hours a day playing with the kids in the pool. We laughed and played so hard. I'm so glad I love the water and not afraid to get in and show my fat body. I'd sure miss out on all this fun if I didn't get in.

For a few minutes I would get time to relax and catch some sun. But then I'd get someone coming underneath me and tipping me over. Hmmm I wonder if that could have been Daxton??? lol

This beautiful young lady loved watching grandma get ready in the morning. She'd sit on the bathroom counter and watch me put make up on and blow my hair dry. She wanted her lips like mine so I'd have to dab a little make up on her.

My little stinkers. Oh they had so much fun together. They're little fishes in the water. Daxton is a great swimmer and Colby and Adaline are swimming now too. You couldn't take your eyes off of them because they had no fear. Most of the time they didn't even wear their floaties.
Troy's such a good daddy. He loves swimming with the kids too.
It's always so hard to leave our family behind. But I know they're happy where they are. We miss having them at our family functions and being able to see them anytime we want. I'm grateful we can visit as often as we do. And I'm sure glad it's a beautiful place too. We love San Antonio. The people are so friendly, the restaurants are to die for. So here's to the next time we get to go back and visit. So long Troy, Kori, Colby and Addie.

Our August Birthdays

Happy Birthday to Jake on August 12th.
He's been such a great asset to our family. He's a wonderful husband to Shana, daddy to his 4 kids and a great son-inlaw. Always has a smile on his face, always giving service to others and is such a dedicated, hard worker.

Happy Birthday to Kori on August 27th. She's a great wife to Troy, and a fun mommy to Colby and Addie. Kori is a fantastic cook. Makes the best dinners ever! When they lived closer she was always asking us up for dinner which was so nice.
